Summary:
As master of the New London built steamer Tasco that was part of the salvage fleet of T.A. Scott Co., Capt. David J. Hunt kept detailed logs of helping ships in distress. His daughter Charlotte Hunt Allen presided over the last one-room school in Old Mystic and her son, David A. Allen, presented his grandfather's logs to the New London Maritime Society where they will be preserved in their quarters in the Custom House on Bank Street.
