Summary:
George Edward Tingley(1864-1958) loved Mystic and his photographs bring us the legacy of his art and also our past. He gained international reknown in the world of photography. In 1884 he began an apprenticeship under Everette A. Scholfield, then an established photographer in Mystic. He moved up to appentice-assistant in 1885, and partner in 1886. He received international awards from Great Britain, Moscow, and Germany. He retired in 1939 after his studio was destroyed by fire that year.
