Summary:
Local chapels, so children could attend Sunday school, were in Cohanzie, Wequetequock and Quambaug. Chapels of this sort were important in an age before trolley cars and autos. The Wequetequock Chapel was lost in the 1938 hurricane. The Fishtown Chapel was moved to the Mystic Seaport Museum. The Norman Chapel (Union Sunday School) on Laurel Hill Avenue in Norwich closed during WWI. Norman Chapel was destroyed by fire but Dorothy Morrison's keepsakes of this enterprise still remain.
