Summary:
The 87-foot whaling schooner Era left New London for the Artic in 1884, under Captain Timothy F. Clisby, for Arkolea where New London whaler Roswell King was stationed and surprisingly found not just the King's captain and mate but 23 stranded crew members from the whaling brig Isabella. With the help of natives, the Era's Captain engineered the rescue of the Isabella's crew in 1885.
