Summary:
Here is the turn in the Military highway at Allyn's Point with a view of the old Allyn farmhouse, which is to be moved back to permit straightening of the road. This road, seeming little more than a cartpath, was photographed before the present highway was built. The farm site was part of the original grant to Robert Allyn, who came to New London from Salem, Mass in 1651. Thomas Allyn of the tenth generation sold the farm buildings a few years ago and built a new residence on the opposite side of the highway.
