Summary:
The Thames Science Center, once called the New London County Children's Museum on Mohegan Avenue was co-founded by Eva Lutz Butler who was also its first program director. Her good friend Mary Virginia Goodman and others assisted her in the museum's endeavors. Eva Butler died Jan. 20, 1969 but June 11, 1988 was deemed Eva Lutz Butler Day by New London's mayor.
