Our Mission and Board of Directors

The mission of The Indian & Colonial Research Center Incorporated is to house, preserve and maintain, in tact and in perpetuity, the collection of Eva Lutz Butler’s Early Americana and to acquire and preserve, in like manner other collections of similar historic, genealogical, Native American, early colonial and educational materials; with particular attention to making the collections accessible for the benefit and use of the local, national and international community.

NOW AVAILABLE NEW PUBLICATION BY THE INDIAN & COLONIAL RESEARCH CENTER
Letters from seventeen-year old William C. Fellows to his mother and sister document his journey from his home in (Old) Mystic, Connecticut to Camp Parapet, Louisiana, near Port Hudson, in 1862. Descriptions of the 26th Regiment, Connecticut Volunteers’ mustering in, journey south and living conditions. William writes of friends and family at home. Some of the families mentioned are: Watrous, Burnett, Lamphere, Chipman, Inghram, Crouch, Gallup, Haley and Slack.
